How many wives are you allowed in Islam?
In Islam, it is permissible to marry 4 wives at a time. If one of them dies or gets divorced due to some shar'i reason, he can take his place and get married. Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:
How many wives are you allowed in Islam?
Translation: And if you fear that you will not do justice to the orphan girls, then marry the women whom you like, two two and three three and four four then if you are afraid that you will not be able to do justice then only One (marry) or slaves (spend) on which you own. It is nearer that you are not wronged. (1)
Result
Up to four marriages are allowed in this verse. But at the same time he said that if you are afraid that in case of having more than one marriage you will not be able to do justice between all, then marry only one. From this it became clear that if one cannot do justice in four but can do justice in three, then one can get married three times. And he can't do justice in three, but if he can do in two, then two are allowed.
It was also learned that it is obligatory to do justice between wives. In it, new, old, virgin or divorced, widows are all equal. This is necessary in fair dress, food and drink, living space and living together at night. All should be treated equally in these matters.
